+[[http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/index.php|phpMyAdmin]] is a free software tool written in PHP, intended to handle the administration of MySQL over the Web. phpMyAdmin supports a wide range of operations on MySQL, MariaDB and Drizzle.  (BlueOnyx ships standard with MySQL). Frequently used operations (managing databases, tables, columns, relations, indexes, users, permissions, etc) can be performed via the user interface, while you still have the ability to directly execute any SQL statement.
 +
+Clicking on the phpMyAdmin menu item will open phpMyAdmin in a window contained within the BlueOnyx GUI.  Clicking the pop-out arrow icon towards the upper right of the phpMyAdmin interface will allow phpMyAdmin to open in a new pop-out window for easier administration.
 +
+**IMPORTANT**: In order for phpMyAdmin to function properly, it is necessary to ensure your [[userguide:mysql:mysqlconfig|MySQL Settings]] are set properly and the BlueOnyx GUI is able to make a connection to MySQL.
